Okay, so I'm very intrested in voice acting (something you all didn't know about me, eh?). Next to designing characters, stories and game concepts, it's my biggest passion. Infact, over the cource of a year or so, I've taught myself a small range of voices to do. There's a deep, scratchy old man's voice; a little Englishman's voice, spoken very rapidly; some average voices; and, one I've learned recently, a little boy's voice with a roughness to it (like the skeleten boy's, from Corpse Bride). There's also a funny midget voice I can do, and even an imitation of Randy Crenshaw's Mister Hyde (the Nightmare Before Christmas). I can also do plenty of accents; Indian, German, Italian, etc.
I can do a good bit more, and would like to name 'em all; but that's not why this was posted. This was posted to tell you all why I feel so accomplished...
Well, everyday, to practice voicing, I like to do random voices throughout the day. I talk to people in funny voices, I reply to people in funny voices, and I even read things in funny voices. And today, which I said just about every other sentence in a funny voice, my voice grew very hoarse; and after awhile I could barely whisper a word for about ten minutes. I felt so accomplished; like a profesional voice actor. I did so much voices throughout the day, that I actually grew hoarse for a while.
Thanks. Though, you're lucky. Changing your style regularly helps you get used to other styles. I bet that in a few years, when you're all settled with your art, you'll be able to draw all sorts of things.
I'm guessing you're right. And I wish that time would come sooner, lol. I get tired of not having my own style...or at least having to see it change so much, haha. I hope you don't mind me adding you to my friends list?
